**Cayuga County Sheriff's Office Reports Domestic Violence Incident**

On October 10, 2024, the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic violence report in Sterling Pines, Town of Sterling. Deputies arrived at approximately 2:40 PM and made contact with the victim, who had sought refuge at a neighbor’s home.

The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Zachary T. Ermini from Oswego, was located in the victim’s residence. Deputies attempted to persuade Ermini to exit the home, but he initially refused. It was later confirmed that a full stay-away order of protection had been issued against Ermini prior to the incident, which he was violating.

In an effort to prevent Ermini from escaping, deputies established a perimeter around the residence. The negotiations team successfully contacted Ermini by phone, convincing him to come out peacefully. He was then taken into custody.

Ermini faces charges of Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree, a misdemeanor, and Aggravated Family Offense, a felony. He was processed at the Public Safety Building and later arraigned in CAP Court, where bail was set at $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond. Ermini paid bail and was released the following morning.

The incident involved assistance from the New York State Police, Fair Haven Fire Department, and Cayuga County 911.
