**Fall Cleanup Scheduled in Penn Yan**
The Village of Penn Yan will begin its fall cleanup starting with brush collection on October 21st. Residents are asked to have all brush placed at the curb by this date. Village crews will make several passes to collect the brush, completing the process by November 1st. It is important for residents to note that leaves will not be collected during this time, so they should pile leaves separately for the leaf-only pickup.
Brush collection will begin at Burns Terrace and conclude at Red Jacket. After the final pass, homeowners can make an appointment to take any remaining brush to the Village dump site.
Leaf pickup will occur from November 4th to November 15th. Residents should place leaves at the curb before November 4th to assist with efficient collection. Leaves may be placed in piles, paper bags, or plastic totes; however, mulched leaves must be bagged. Pinecones, walnuts, and fruit should be placed in paper bags or containers. The use of plastic bags for leaf collection is prohibited.
The Village will not collect large tree limbs over three inches in diameter, appliances, lumber, construction debris, plastic bags, furniture, or other household items. Residents are also urged to avoid piling debris near street lights, utility poles, stormwater catch basins, fire hydrants, and other obstructions.
No additional pickups are scheduled until spring.
