Cayuga County Health Debunks Flu Vaccine Myths

The Cayuga County Health Department is addressing common misconceptions about the flu vaccine. One prevalent myth is that the flu vaccine is not safe or effective. In response, health officials highlight that the flu vaccine has been safely administered for over 50 years. It is recognized for its effectiveness in reducing the spread of the flu, as well as mitigating serious illness and death associated with the virus.
Residents are encouraged to seek accurate information and not to let misinformation affect their health decisions. Those who have not yet received their flu vaccine are urged to schedule an appointment. To locate a vaccination site, individuals can visit www.vaccines.gov.
