The Geneva Public Library in Geneva, NY, hosted a “Survival Stories” program for young people. During the program, participants learned essential skills for hiking and overnight camping. Scoutmaster Gary led the program, guiding the group as they unpacked backpacks to examine various pieces of gear and practiced different knots.

Cubmaster Valerie of Cub Scout Pack 1 also contributed to the presentation. With support from Healthy Living Funds received by the library, every participant left with a first aid kit and a flashlight.

Additionally, Scoutmaster Gary is scheduled to return this Friday at 2 p.m. for a Summer Reading Finale event that will feature a LEGO derby track. The event is made possible with the support of the Seneca Waterways Council, Scouting America.
