Free Rabies Vaccination Clinic on October 28th

Staff Report / FLXlocal.org

The Cayuga County Health Department and the Finger Lakes SPCA of Central New York will host a free rabies vaccination clinic on Monday, October 28, 2024. The clinic will take place from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Finger Lakes SPCA, located at 41 York St., Auburn, NY.

This event is open to dogs, cats, and ferrets that are at least four months old. Dogs must be leashed and muzzled if necessary, while cats and ferrets should be transported in carriers—only one cat or ferret is allowed per carrier.

To receive a three-year rabies vaccine, pet owners must provide proof of prior vaccination; rabies tags cannot be used as proof. Ferrets will be given one-year vaccination certificates.

While pre-registration is preferred, it is not mandatory to attend the clinic. For questions or to pre-register, individuals can contact the Finger Lakes SPCA at 315-253-5841.
